History:

Scope and Content:
The records are those created by the National Society of Pershing Rifles, with the National
Headquarters located in Lincoln, Nebraska, on the University of
Nebraska–Lincoln campus. They include correspondence, various communications
such as memos and orders, manuals, histories, constitutions, various forms and
reports, and minutes of meetings. The collection also contains materials on the
National Tactics meet. Publications include The Pershing
Riflemen, a semi-annual publication of the national organization, and The National Shield. Also included are memorabilia as well as
group photographs of the members of the Pershing Rifles.
The majority of communications relating to the National Office and the Unit Tables, for 1st through 17th regiments, are dated from 1971-1976. Those records listed under "Shingles" are receipts for certificate requests.
