History:
The Innocents Society is the Chancellor's Senior Honorary society, first established
at the university on April 24, 1903, is still active today. For information their
mission, history, and traditions, visit the Innocents Society.
Scope and Content:
The majority of the materials deals with organization and activities of the Innocents
Society and includes correspondence, meeting minutes, constitution and revisions,
by-laws, and officer lists. The records document homecoming displays and events,
programs, and participation in Innocents Society traditions, such as the sale of
Freshman beanies or caps. There are several folders that relate to the activities of
the Innocents Alumni Association. The majority of photgraphs are black and white
prints of group photos or composites of individual photos. Artifacts include an
engraved cigarette holder inscribed to Harry L. Weaver for his service as faculty
advisor, a pin, a printing plate of the Innocents Society logo, and two ceremonial
robes.
