Scope and Content:

The maps in the Sandoz collection are those that represent Sandoz's research and investigation into the geographical areas associated with her novels and areas of interest. The maps include those Sandoz created or annotated herself or published maps with or without annotations. Occasionally, maps will have associated correspondence and publication information with them. The dates listed for the maps are either the date or time frame represented on the map or the date it was created or published. Some maps have multiple parts, which may include a separate map key, two sections of a map, or the original housing of a map. The maps are arranged according to the subjects Sandoz created.

Selected maps created or annotated by Sandoz were microfilmed through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Information on the reel number follows the title of a map. Maps that have been microfilmed are available on Reel MS#0178.
