Archives & Special Collections, University of Nebraska–Lincoln Libraries. Scope and Content: The correspondence includes letters between Mabel A. Work, who lived in Callaway, Nebraska, and Gilbert Fields, who lived initially in Englewood, Colorado. During their courtship and marriage, Work's letters to Fields are addressed to Ord, Wood River, Elm Creek, and David City, Nebraska. Fields worked at night for the Union Pacific Railroad Company. There are a few letters from other friends, including Frank Robison and Ada G. Harding. Work and Fields marry in December 1912. Letters from 1913 on include those to Fields when he is away and letters from family. Those dated from 1917-1919 are sent to the Fields in Tie Siding, Wyoming.
